Brasov IT Hub

The IT outsourcing context in Romania

Brasov IT Hub

Predictable costs — a fixed monthly fee replaces unexpected expenses for emergency repairs, licenses, or specialized consultancy.

Access to a diverse team — instead of a single IT person, you get a team with expertise in networking, security, virtualization, and Microsoft systems.

Proactive monitoring — systems are monitored 24/7 using specialized tools. Problems are detected and resolved before they affect productivity.

Faster response time — an MSP partner has the tools and processes in place to respond quickly to any incident, minimizing downtime.

What does an MSP (Managed Service Provider) do?

A Managed Service Provider takes over the administration and monitoring of the entire IT infrastructure. Services typically include: — the enterprise reference solution, with advanced HA features, vMotion (live virtual machine migration) and distributed storage via vSAN. Ideal for complex environments with high performance and availability requirements.

Microsoft Hyper-V — natively integrated into Windows Server, Hyper-V offers a solid virtualization solution at a lower cost. With Failover Clustering and Storage Spaces Direct (S2D), it can provide availability comparable to VMware for many scenarios.

Proxmox VE — an open-source alternative that combines KVM virtualization with LXC containers. Excellent for companies seeking flexibility and reduced licensing costs, without sacrificing essential features.

How to choose the right solution?

The choice depends on several factors: budget, environment complexity, performance requirements, team experience, and growth plans. VMware remains the preferred choice for enterprise environments, Hyper-V integrates naturally into Microsoft ecosystems, and Proxmox offers an open-source option with no licensing costs.

Critical elements in a cluster architecture

Shared or replicated storage — whether using a SAN, S2D, vSAN, or Ceph, data must be accessible from all cluster nodes.

Redundant networking — separate networks for management, production, and storage traffic, with NIC teaming or LACP for bandwidth and fault tolerance. Quorum and consensus — proper configuration of the quorum mechanism prevents split-brain situations and ensures correct decisions when nodes fail.

Monitoring and alerting — a cluster without active monitoring can fail silently. Integration with SNMP, Zabbix, PRTG, or similar platforms is essential. How Gobalt implements HA clusters

At Brasov IT Hub, we have implemented high-availability clusters for clients in various industries — from aerospace to textiles, from paper manufacturing to veneer production. Each project starts with an infrastructure assessment and a custom design tailored to the client's business and budget needs. If you want to eliminate the risk of downtime and ensure business continuity,

contact us for a consultation. Structured cabling — the physical foundation of any network. A properly executed Cat6/Cat6a cabling installation, with labeled patch panels and organized cable runs, ensures optimal performance and simplifies troubleshooting. Cutting corners on cabling is paid for later with interest — through intermittent problems and diagnostic costs.

VLAN segmentation — separating traffic by department or function (production, administration, guest, VoIP, cameras) improves security and reduces congestion. A flat, unsegmented network is a risk and a bottleneck. Managed switching and routing — Layer 2/Layer 3 switches with support for LACP, STP, QoS, and ACLs enable intelligent and priority-based traffic management. A consumer-grade switch cannot handle these requirements. Enterprise WiFi — centrally managed access points, with roaming, per-user authentication (802.1X), bandwidth control, and guest isolation. A WiFi network based on consumer routers does not scale and does not secure. Firewall and perimeter security — a next-generation firewall that provides traffic inspection, content filtering, intrusion prevention (IPS), VPN, and logging. This is not an optional element — it is the primary shield of the organization. Monitoring and management — a modern network needs continuous visibility: uptime, traffic, errors, latency. SNMP tools, dashboards, and proactive alerts help prevent problems before they become outages.
